This wonderful pair of matching, antique, gas/electric combination chandeliers (electrified) have Sheffield Pattern body parts, shade holders, finials and canopies, all with a lovely, dark, antique brass patina. The three electric light arms on each are original, stout, and feature stylish armbacks that look like emerging, closed flower buds. Originally these (and three other, matching fixtures) had only one gas arm on each fixture, and no gas lighting shade as the arm so short and so close to the body that a shade was not practical. The five original gas arms, and one more contrived from antique parts nearly matching the others (see final photo) were electrified and all placed on these two fixtures to make them the pleasing, six light fixtures they are today. The gas arms were lengthened by 1-3/4 inches with new, turned brass, beaded spindles, and a cast brass shade holder added so that the "gas" lights can have matching shades. The shades offered are rare, antique and utterly gorgeous, double etched in the highly distinctive Art Nouveau style which reached its apogee at the Universal Exposition in Paris in 1900. 32" long (can be shortened).
